The biggest motivation for using drive in pallet racks is for the utilization. Neither system can achieve high density storage, which allows forklift drivers to enter the loading area to store and retrieve goods at any depth of the rack. The loaded cargo is located on the rail and can be loaded and unloaded from the aisle at the same height as it is stationary.
The recessed straight footed upright forklift facing the aisle provides more space for the forklift. Since the drive in systems make full use of the available space, they are considered the best choice for cold storage with limited space.
Both systems can work well with similar products or for high volume operations. Therefore, the drive in rack is ideal for LIFO (last in, first out) or FIFO (first in, first out) operation. For storage of perishable goods or items with a short shelf life, drive in and through racks are your best choice.
LIFO (last in, first out) or FIFO (first in, first out) load methods.
Deep lane storage reduces space usage, cuts costs and holds more loads.
Multiple access aisles eliminated.
Extra control over inputs and outputs.
More storage density instead of the direct access of Pallet Racks.
Specifically designed for your pallets and forklifts.
