What Are the Ways to Arrange Warehouse Storage Rackings?

To improve the storage capacity and operational efficiency of the warehouse, it is important to have a good layout of warehouse storage rackings. The shelf layout should be planned in combination with the warehouse structure. Common shelf layout methods include vertical arrangement, inclined arrangement, and mixed arrangement. Next, we will explain these three common layout methods in detail.

Vertical arrangement of warehouse storage rackings

The arrangement of the cargo or shelves is perpendicular or parallel to the side wall of the warehouse, including horizontal layout, vertical layout, and longitudinal-horizontal layout.

Horizontal layout

The length direction of the cargo or shelves is perpendicular to the side wall of the warehouse. Its main advantages include long and wide main aisles, short secondary aisles, neat and beautiful appearance, easy storage, access, and inventory. If used for warehouse layout, it is also beneficial for ventilation and lighting.

Vertical layout

The length direction of the cargo or shelves is parallel to the side wall of the warehouse. Its main advantages include being able to arrange the location of the cargo according to the storage time and frequency of entry and exit. Items with short storage time and frequent entry and exit are placed on both sides of the main aisle, and items with long storage time and infrequent entry and exit are placed inside.

Longitudinal-horizontal layout

It combines both horizontal and vertical layout within the same storage area, making use of the advantages of both.

Inclined arrangement of warehouse storage rackings

The arrangement of the cargo or shelves forms a 60°, 45° or 30° angle with the side wall or main aisle of the warehouse. It includes shelf inclined layout and aisle inclined layout.

Shelf inclined layout

It is a variation of the horizontal layout, which is adopted to facilitate forklift operation, reduce turning angles, and improve operational efficiency.

Aisle inclined layout

The aisles of the warehouse are slanted through the storage area, dividing the warehouse into areas with different operating characteristics, such as areas with large and small storage quantities, to facilitate comprehensive utilization. Under this layout, the warehouse is complex in form and has many cargo locations and paths for entry and exit.

Mixed arrangement of warehouse storage rackings

This is a layout method in which the long side of the cargo location has both a vertical and parallel relationship with the main operating aisle, which is arranged according to the warehouse structure and the needs of cargo storage and retrieval.

Industrial warehouse storage rackings are made of high-quality steel plates, with surface treated by electrostatic spraying, making them corrosion-resistant, rust-resistant, solid, and beautiful. Its various specifications and load-bearing designs can meet the requirements of factories, warehouses, assembly lines, and warehousing supermarkets. When you need shelves with a load-bearing capacity of 100-150kg per layer, this type of shelf is an ideal choice, and can also be used to form platforms. Therefore, the light-duty shelf is suitable for storing light-duty bulk items in factories and for use in warehousing supermarkets. It is easy to assemble by inserting and connecting, and has a wide range of uses. However, did you know that warehouse storage rackings made of stainless steel require careful moisture-proofing in humid weather and cleaning and anti-corrosion treatments in normal weather conditions to extend their service life?
